Description
A lab thermometer alcohol (red) is another type of thermometer commonly used in laboratory settings for measuring temperatures. It also consists of a glass tube with a bulb at one end and a scale marked on the tube.
However, instead of mercury, it contains colored alcohol, typically red or blue, which expands and contracts with temperature changes, causing the alcohol level to rise or fall in the tube. The scale on the tube is marked in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit, allowing the user to read the temperature.
Alcohol thermometers are less toxic than mercury thermometers, but they are less accurate and have a narrower range of measurement. They are commonly used for lower temperature ranges, such as in refrigerators, freezers, and water baths.
