MCT Box

MCT Boxes are strong as well as autoclavable. One size can hold 64 MCTs of 1.5 ml. & the other can hold 100 MCT’s of 0.5 ml. These boxes are designed to work at temperatures ranging from -190 c + 121 c. The transparent cover provides a good view of the contents inside & is numbered for better inventory control.

The MEDILAB MCT Box is a high-strength, precision-moulded storage solution designed for secure organisation and long-term preservation of microcentrifuge tubes (MCTs). Engineered for demanding laboratory workflows, this box accommodates either 64 tubes of 1.5 mL or 100 tubes of 0.5 mL, depending on the chosen model. Its robust construction supports extreme temperature conditions—from cryogenic freezing to autoclave sterilisation—making it essential for sample protection, inventory management, and safe transport in modern research and industrial labs.

Key Features

  • High-Capacity Storage: Two formats are available: a 64-place box for 1.5 mL tubes and a 100-place box for 0.5 mL tubes.
  • Transparent Numbered Lid: The Clear top provides instant visibility of stored samples and features embossed alphanumeric indexing for accurate sample tracking.
  • Temperature-Resistant Construction: Performs reliably from –190°C to +121°C, suitable for cryogenic storage, refrigerated conditions, benchtop use, and autoclaving.
  • Secure Tube Placement: Precision-moulded wells ensure stable positioning of tubes, preventing tipping and sample disruption.
  • Stackable Space-Saving Design: Flat, stable lid and base allow safe stacking in freezers or storage shelves.
  • Durability for Heavy Use: Designed to endure repetitive opening, handling, and sterilisation cycles.
  • Ideal for Sensitive Samples: Suitable for DNA, RNA, enzymes, vaccines, protein samples, and other temperature-sensitive materials.

Handling & Precautions

  • Safe Use: Ensure the lid is closed properly before moving or stacking. Avoid overloading freezers or cold storage racks to maintain structural integrity.
  • Cleaning Instructions: Wash using mild laboratory detergent; rinse with distilled water. Avoid harsh chemicals such as strong oxidisers.
  • Autoclaving Guidance: Do not exceed the recommended temperature. Allow gradual cooling to avoid thermal stress.
  • Do’s & Don’ts: Do label the box exterior for quick identification. Do keep boxes away from direct heat sources outside the autoclave. Don’t use abrasive pads, which may scratch or cloud the transparent lid.
  • Best Practices: Rotate boxes in long-term storage to manage sample ageing. Use colour-coding or labelling systems for high-throughput labs.
