Description
Human Skeleton
The human skeleton is the internal framework of the human body which is composed of 270 bones at birth, further of which some get fused along to form in a total of 206 bones by adulthood. The human skeleton is divided into axial skeleton and appendicular skeleton. The axial skeleton consists of 80 bones including the skull, the vertebral column, the rib cage, and other associated bones, whereas the appendicular skeleton, which is attached to the axial skeleton, consists of skeletal elements within limbs, like bones of upper and lower limbs, shoulder girdle and pelvic girdle.
The human skeleton majorly functions with support, movement, protection, production of blood cells, storage of minerals, and endocrine regulation, in a human body.
MEDILAB’s Human Skeleton model comes with a 3-part dissectable skull, with an approximate height of 150 cm (life-size), and with a numbered Key Card, showing the names of various joints and bones in the human skeleton structure.
